Post2015 - The Next Era of Global Governance?

Last updated: 05.05.2014 // All are welcome to join the May 7th event co-hosted by The Permanent Mission of Norway alongside the Permanent Missions of Indonesia, Thailand, South Africa in collaboration with IHEID/ The Graduate Institute.

The event will be a great way to get ready for the WHA, or gain an insight into what is moving on the health-side of the Post2015 agenda.The event will feature panellists involved in the writing of the following reports, which will also serve as a point of departure for the discussion: Governance for Sustainable Development (UNDP), Health 2035: The World Converging within a Generation (Lancet) og The Political Origins of Health Inequality: Prospects for Change (Lancet – UIO).

Welcome and introduction will be provided by Ilona Kickbusch, Director of the Global Health Programme at IHEID, who will also moderate the event. Followed by His Exellency Steffen Kongstad, who will open and briefly contextualize the event.

Speakers will include Ole Petter Ottersen (University of Oslo), and David Evans (WHO), who were involved in writing the Lancet-UIO Commission on Global Governance for Health and the Lancet Commission on Investing in Health, respectively.

Commentaries will be provided by Martin Khor (South Centre), Dudley Tarlton (UNDP), and His Exellency Mothusi Bruce Rabasha Palai, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Botswana.

All are welcome and encouraged to attend the event at Maison de la Paix. However, for those not in Geneva, or who are otherwise inconvenienced, the event will be live-streamed at graduateinstitute.ch/globalhealth.
