Statements held by Norway at UNHCR's 58th Standing Committee meeting

Last updated: 25.09.2013 // The 58th meeting in the Standing Committee of the Executive Committee of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) took place in Geneva September 17 and 18. On the agenda were financial matters, human resources and coordination issues, among other subjects.

Norway commended improvements in UNHCR’s financial management during the discussion of the UNHCR’s accounts for 2012. Regarding the biannual budget for 2013-2014, Norway called for more transparency and insight into the statistics and needs assessments constituting the basis for the budget priorities.

Norway commended UNHCR’s efforts to improve coordination and partnerships, and suggested the UNHCR and OCHA, to improve coordination, together could create a practical framework for division of labour and responsibility in the field.
