State Secretary for International Development underlined Norway's committment to maintain 1% of its GNI for development assistance and to continue the high level political advocacy and mobilization for all the health MDGs with a special focus on women and children at the Ministerial Review of International Health Partnerhip (IHP+) in Geneva 5th February
State Secretary Håkon A Gudbrandsen for International Development participated at the Minsterial Review of the International Health Partnership (IHP+) 4 and 5th February in Geneva. IHP was initiated by UK, launched in 2007 and links to the Global Health Campaign initiated by the Norwegian Prime Minister. The Norwegian Prime Minister was one of the first Heads of State to sign the IHP+ initiative. It focuses primarily on implementing Paris and Accra Commitments on harmonization and alignment in the health sector through stronger commitments by donors to provide long term funding in support for comprehensive national health plans. State Secretary Håkon A Gudbrandsen underlined Norway's commitment to the IHP+ principles and to maintain 1% of its GNI for development assistance and to continue the high level political advocacy and mobilization for all the health MDGs with a special focus on women and children.
The participants of the IHP+ Ministerial Review Meeting adopted a document laying out bold and concrete commitments to push forward the objectives of the Partnership
