Norway participates actively in the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS). The Summit is held in two phases. The first phase of WSIS took place in Geneva in December 2003, and the second phase of WSIS will take place in Tunis in November 2005. See <a href=" http://www.itu.int/wsis " target="_blank">www.itu.int/wsis</a> for more information. Norway holds a seat in the Bureau for the WSIS-process. Norway is also a member of the Group of Friends of the Chair (GFC).
