Ambassador Neple takes charge of development negotiations

Last updated: 26.03.2014 // In a meeting of the Special Session of the Committee on Trade and Development (CTD SS) at the WTO in Geneva 25 March, Ambassador Neple was formally elected as the new Chairman of the CTD SS.

Before Neple was called to the podium, the outgoing Chairman, The Singaporean Ambassador Mr. Kwok Fook-Seng, presented a report of the recent work undertaken in the CTD SS.

“In all, it was a very busy year and a half, but one which allowed us to secure some concrete results in Bali in the form of the Monitoring Mechanism on Special and Different Treatment. “

The Member States showed great gratitude of the work Ambassador Kwow has done as chairman for the CTD SS. Ambassador Kwok welcomed Ambassador Nelpe and stated that “No doubt, Ambassador Neple brings with him a rich background of active participation in bilateral as well as multilateral trade negotiations. It goes without saying that his valuable knowledge and experience places him in a good stead to advance the work in the CTD SS.”
