Trade and Development

Norway donated NOK15 million (about CHF2.4 million) to the Global Trust Fund for 2012. Norway is one of the biggest contributors to this fund. This donation will finance technical assistance programmes and training activities for developing and least developed countries.

More than two thirds of WTO Members are developing countries and the WTO Agreements recognize the link between trade and development.At the Doha Ministerial Conference, in November 2001, Trade Ministers launched the Doha Development Agenda. Through this agenda, WTO Members have placed development issues and the interests of developing countries at the very core of the WTO’s work.
