On 13 March 2012 Norway’s permanent representative to the World Trade Organization (WTO) and Chair of the General Council, ambassador Elin Østebø Johansen, gave a presentation on the WTO Dispute Settlement Body Developments in 2011. The presentation was held at the Fifth Annual Update on WTO Dispute settlement, hosted by the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva.
At the beginning of each year, on the occasion of the release of the Appellate Body’s Annual Report, the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies gathers the chairs of the WTO Appellate Body, the Dispute Settlement Body, and the Negotiating Group on DSU Review in an Annual Update on WTO Dispute Settlement. Presentations by the chairs were followed by a roundtable discussion of the most important cases and developments of the past year. The Roundtable was composed of representatives of academia, the trade law bar, press and NGOs.
